Northern Tourism Associations Strengthen Cooperation to Enhance Vietnam's Tourism Quality
Northern Vietnamese tourism associations convened a conference to review the first half of 2026 and discuss strategies for the latter half. The focus is on enhancing tourism quality through strengthened regional cooperation.
On August 7, 2026, at the Ao Vua Tourist Area (Hanoi), the cluster of Northern Vietnamese Tourism Associations organized a mid-year review conference for the first half of 2026 and a forum titled "Connecting Regional Strengths - Joint Efforts to Enhance Vietnam's Tourism." The event aimed to review achievements and discuss directions for cooperation and development in the second half of the year. Discussions included expanding cooperation for cruise tourism development, promoting tourism in the North Central region, enhancing heritage values through inter-regional connectivity, and how regional linkages can create new momentum for Vietnam's tourism. Promoting tourism cooperation between Hanoi and local localities at VITM 2026 was also on the agenda. Vietnam, under its one-party system, has achieved economic growth and views tourism promotion as a key pillar. In recent years, the country has aimed to elevate its status as an international tourist destination through infrastructure development and enhanced promotional activities. The strengthened cooperation among northern tourism associations is expected to contribute to improving the quality of domestic tourism and revitalizing regional economies. In the context of complex relations with China, stimulating domestic demand and improving the quality of service industries like tourism are crucial ongoing tasks for the Vietnamese government to enhance the nation's economic self-reliance.
