Mindanao Quake Triggered by Cotabato Trench, PHIVOLCS Says

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao was likely triggered by movement along the Cotabato Trench, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The trench has historically caused devastating tsunamis.
