Cambodian National Assembly Speaker Congratulates China on 77th Anniversary, Eyes Stronger Bilateral Ties

Khuon Sodary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, on the historic occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which is scheduled to be celebrated on October 1, 2026. In the message, President Khuon Sodary stated, 'On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and in my own name, I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency the Chairman, your colleagues, and the people of the People's Republic of China on the historic occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which will be celebrated on October 1, 2026.' The President expressed strong confidence that the 'iron friendship' and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, especially between our legislative institutions, based on political trust and practical cooperation, will be further strengthened and expanded through regular exchange visits at all levels, moving towards the building of a community of shared future for mankind in all seasons. It was noted that China is currently playing a vital role as a global pillar, contributing to the maintenance of world peace, stability, and prosperity. Once again, President Khuon Sodary expressed firm belief that under the wise and far-sighted leadership of the Communist Party of China, the People's Republic of China will achieve its vision of becoming a prosperous, strong, culturally advanced, democratic, harmonious, and beautiful modern socialist country by the year 2049, the centenary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
