Online Gambling Logo T-Shirt Wearer Questioned by Police

Police in Dong Thap Province, southern Vietnam, announced on September 21 that they had summoned a man for questioning who was regularly seen wearing a t-shirt printed with logos and website names related to online gambling. The Internal Political Security Department of the province is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the use of such apparel. This incident appears to be part of efforts to combat online gambling within Vietnam. Under the one-party system led by the Communist Party, Vietnam places significant emphasis on maintaining social order and protecting public morality, and crackdowns on illegal activities are conducted strictly. Online gambling, in particular, is flagged for its potential negative impact on youth and its role as a breeding ground for money laundering and criminal organizations, leading authorities to heighten their vigilance.
