Ayeyarwaddy Times August 6 It is known that during the two-day visit to Thailand by the military leader and Caretaker President Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in Thailand, he met with Thai Prime Minister Ing-chan on August 6 and agreed to and signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) on labor cooperation, water quality management, and space technology. At the bilateral meeting held at the Thai Government House in Bangkok, it was reported that security, economic, trade, investment, energy, and cross-border issues between the two countries were discussed. Regarding border security, the Thai Prime Minister called for the suppression of cross-border crimes, drug problems, and online scam gangs, and for the promotion of safety in border areas, urging the reduction of obstacles to border trade. Furthermore, the Thai government expressed the importance of Myanmar workers in Thailand and pledged to protect their rights and promote legal employment. They also discussed cooperating to resolve issues of trans-border haze and river water pollution. During the meeting, Thai Prime Minister Ing-chan congratulated Caretaker President Min Aung Hlaing on assuming office and stated his readiness to support Myanmar's participation in ASEAN and to carry out bilateral cooperation. On the other hand, in relation to the Caretaker President Min Aung Hlaing's visit, Piyapoon Dithet of the River and Rights Foundation and the Bright Future group, which works for Myanmar migrant workers, gathered in front of the United Nations (UN) office in Bangkok on the afternoon of August 6 and held a protest. The protesters pointed out the interim government's violence against the people, environmental destruction due to toxic substances from mines, and extortion of money from migrant workers through CI centers, and demanded that the Thai government immediately cease relations with the interim government.
