Cambodian Senate Donates $500,000 Worth of Medicine to Calmette Hospital

The Commission for Investigation, Cleansing, and Anti-Corruption of the Cambodian Senate, led by its Chairman Mam Bunneang, has donated humanitarian aid from the Senate, in conjunction with the Global Life Sharing Foundation of the Republic of Korea, to Calmette Hospital, with the total value of the medicines exceeding 500,000 US dollars. The ceremony for the handover of this humanitarian aid took place on September 8, 2026. The donation included 29 types of assorted medicines, valued at over 500,000 US dollars, and was received by Kong Sonthea, Director-General of Calmette Hospital. It is recalled that the Senate's 10th Commission and the Global Life Sharing Foundation have previously signed Memoranda of Understanding on the provision and receipt of humanitarian aid, including medicines, medical equipment, clothing, and daily necessities, on three occasions. The total value of these past contributions amounts to 65 million US dollars. As of August 2026, the Global Life Sharing Foundation has provided humanitarian aid to the Cambodian Senate on 23 occasions, totaling 34,419,550.85 US dollars. All humanitarian aid has been managed and distributed by the Senate leadership to provinces, hospitals, referral hospitals, health centers, vulnerable individuals, and particularly to refugees along the Cambodia-Thailand border, ensuring transparency, accountability, and targeted delivery. This effort aims to contribute to the improvement of the well-being of the Cambodian people, in line with the noble aspirations of the Senate and the Global Life Sharing Foundation.
