Vietnam Universities Begin Announcing Admission Scores Amid Record Applicant Numbers

Several prominent universities in Vietnam have begun announcing their admission scores for the 2026 academic year starting August 9th. These include the Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and the Banking Academy. The Foreign Trade University and the Banking Academy are scheduled to release their scores after 11 AM today, once they have completed six rounds of virtual filtering (applicant selection). Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to announce at 2 PM, while Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has set its announcement for 5 PM. Many other universities are also releasing their admission scores today, such as the University of Information Technology under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam-Germany University, Vietnam Women's Academy, University of Policy and Development, Phenikaa University, and Dai Nam University. The admission score announcement schedule for these institutions is for the 2026 academic year. This year, over 1.2 million candidates took the High School Graduation Exam, a record high. Among them, nearly 875,000 candidates registered for university admission, with a total of over 7.18 million applications submitted. On average, each student registered for more than 8 preferences. After receiving their results, candidates must confirm their enrollment online through the Ministry of Education and Training's system by 5 PM on August 21st and complete other procedures according to each university's schedule.
