President Jokowi Attends Son's Circumcision of Cirebon Cleric, Accompanied by PSI Officials

President Joko Widodo of Indonesia attended the circumcision ceremony of the child of a prominent Islamic cleric, KH Muhammad Busthomi, also known as Ustadz Ujang Busthomi, in Cirebon, West Java, on Saturday, September 12. Notably, President Jokowi was accompanied by officials from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) West Java Regional Executive Board (DPW). This was revealed through an Instagram post by Bestari Barus, Chairman of the PSI DPP, on his account @barusbestari. The post showed President Jokowi sitting at a table and conversing with Bestari and several other individuals. In a separate interview, Deputy Chairman of the PSI DPP, Ronald A Sinaga, also known as Bro Ron, confirmed that President Jokowi's visit to Cirebon was for the circumcision ceremony. "He went to Cirebon for the cleric's child's circumcision, accompanied by DPW Jabar officials," he stated via a short message on Saturday evening. Upon arrival at Yayasan Al-Bhustomi Padepokan Anti Galau in Sinarrancang Village, Mundu District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, President Jokowi was greeted with a floral garland by Ustadz Ujang Busthomi. The circumcision of Ustadz Ujang Busthomi's seventh child, M. Aulian Ghayda Fattana, took place in August, with the event on Saturday being a thanksgiving ceremony. President Jokowi's arrival was welcomed by a drum band from Alman Panguragan and Paksi Naga Liman, as well as a royal carriage from the Kanoman Palace. He walked approximately 1 kilometer, greeting residents along the way to the venue. President Jokowi also took the time to shake hands with the assembled community members. Accompanying the President on this occasion was his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, who also serves as the Chairman of the PSI DPP. During his visit, President Jokowi passed by a bakso (meatball soup) stall, where a vendor called out to him, "Selling what? Bakso, Sir. Please stop by, Sir. Stay healthy, President Jokowi."
