President Prabowo Leads Simultaneous Harvest of Sugarcane, Rice, and Soybeans Across 43 Locations

President Prabowo Subianto departed for Malang Regency, East Java, on Friday, July 17, to lead a simultaneous harvest of sugarcane, rice, and soybeans across 43 locations nationwide. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the activity involves the three branches of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in supporting the food security program and national self-sufficiency targets. "President Prabowo will lead the simultaneous harvest of sugarcane, rice, and soybeans, which will be carried out at 43 points throughout Indonesia," said Teddy. The sugarcane harvest will be conducted at eight locations with support from the Air Force. The Army will accompany the rice harvest at 31 points, while the Navy will be involved in the soybean harvest at four locations. Prabowo, accompanied by a limited entourage, departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta using the Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1. Upon arrival at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang, Prabowo is scheduled to proceed directly to the harvest site, which is connected to dozens of other national points. In addition to leading the harvest, the President will inspect booths showcasing the TNI's flagship programs and various downstream processing activities in the agricultural sector. According to Teddy, the government wants the strengthening of the food sector not to stop at increased production. Support for farmers and the processing of agricultural products are also encouraged to provide greater added value. "President Prabowo wants to ensure that the strengthening of the food sector is carried out in an integrated manner, from increasing production, providing assistance to farmers, to downstream processing," he remarked. Accompanying the President were, among others, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Agraria and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
