Sources from Kachin military intelligence revealed that the strategic border post No. 30, a large military camp belonging to the SAC, located within Hkawnglanghpu Township, Kachin State, was finally brought under control
Sources from Kachin military intelligence revealed that the strategic border post No. 30, a large military camp belonging to the SAC, located within Hkawnglanghpu Township, Kachin State, was finally brought under control by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces on the afternoon of September 18. It is reported that the KIA and allied forces were able to capture border post No. 30 in the Amatt Po area of Hkawnglanghpu today at noon and are currently conducting clearance operations. "BP 30, a large camp with a helipad, has been captured by the KIA," a source from Kachin military intelligence told the Irrawaddy Times. It is understood that the large camp that was captured was a base where troops from the SAC's Infantry Battalions 137 and 280, along with People's Defense Force units, were jointly stationed, and it included a helipad. During this camp capture battle, there were casualties on the military side, and some weapons and military equipment were seized by the allied forces. The exact number of casualties is not yet known, and it is said that area clearance operations are still ongoing. Fierce battles are occurring in the Shwegu, Bhamo, and Hkawnglanghpu areas within Kachin State, and the military is attempting to reinforce its troops using land, sea, and air. In 2025, the military had reinforced a large number of troops within military camps in the Hkawnglanghpu region using Y-8 aircraft. Photo caption: KIA troops
