Phnom Penh's Meanchey District Launches Road and Drainage System Upgrade
Meanchey District in Phnom Penh has commenced construction on a road paving and drainage system installation project in Stung Meanchey 3 commune. The Meanchey District Administration in Phnom Penh has officially broken ground on a project funded by the Commune Development Fund for 2026. The initiative aims to repair concrete roads and install a new circular drainage system in Stung Meanchey 3 commune, with the goal of improving infrastructure and resolving flooding issues for residents. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 30th, presided over by Mr. Seng Kun, Governor of Meanchey District. He was accompanied by Mr. Sang Sinar, Chief of Stung Meanchey 3 Commune, along with commune council members and approximately 70 residents. The project covers three villages within the commune: Trea 4, Reussey 2, and Damnak Thum 5. The infrastructure project includes the installation of a new circular drainage system spanning 752 meters with a cross-section of 0.80 meters, and the repair of concrete roads measuring 637 meters in length and 6 meters in width.
