In the past, Kandal Province has implemented numerous environmental campaigns such as "Today, I don't use plastic bags," which has been conducted 8,996 times with 3,287,637 participants, and the "Clean Cambodia, Khmer Can Do" campaign, conducted 7,766 times with 2,895,074 participants, along with continuous campaigns for cleaning national roads, streets, and public places. H.E. Sabo Ozano stated that waste management, solid waste, and preventing environmental pollution are among the priority tasks of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The Ministry of Environment has set raising public awareness and participation as a priority goal to change behavior and living habits towards "Clean Living, Green Environment, and Carbon Neutrality." As planned, the Ministry of Environment will provide trash bins to schools, pagodas, and health centers throughout the country to facilitate the storage and separation of waste by type, and to encourage community participation in proper waste management. H.E. Sabo Ozano also mentioned that the 2,328 trash bins handed over today for Kandal Province will be placed in appropriate locations within school premises to enhance the efficiency of waste storage and collection, and to cultivate a spirit among students and the community to care for the environment starting from schools. He also appealed to the Provincial Administration, district and municipal administrations, teachers, students, and all relevant parties to participate in managing, maintaining, and using these trash bins properly and for a long time to serve the interests of the environment, society, and public health.
