Laos Considers Raising Cultural Heritage Admission Fees for First Time in 20 Years

The Laotian government is considering raising admission fees for major palaces and royal tombs next year, a move that would mark the first adjustment in two decades, according to officials. Experts and officials argue that current admission prices are low by international standards. Analysis suggests that while fees for major palaces in South Korea are around $2.20, rates for Lao cultural heritage sites are even lower.
