Cambodia: Support for Border Police Boosts Morale of Security Forces

Banteay Meanchei Province -- On the morning of September 11, 2026, in Banteay Meanchei Province, His Excellency Dr. Thop Net, Director General of the General Department of Identification, led a delegation to visit and present valuable gifts from His Excellency Dr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to the frontline police forces. This action underscores the leadership's consistent and proactive attention to the well-being and living conditions of the armed forces at the grassroots level. During the meaningful meeting, Brigadier General Soeum Sarith, Provincial Police Commissioner of Banteay Meanchei, expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the Ministry of Interior, particularly His Excellency Dr. Sar Sokha and His Excellency Dr. Thop Net, for taking valuable time to personally inspect and bring support to the border defense forces who tirelessly perform their duties day and night. Addressing the four border battalions and six district/municipal police inspectorates along the border, His Excellency Dr. Thop Net highly commended the immense sacrifices of all forces who have dedicated their physical and mental strength to defending territorial integrity and maintaining security and public order for the citizens. Concurrently, His Excellency outlined key recommendations to further enhance the effectiveness of border defense work. These include maintaining strictness and conducting regular patrols to prevent all types of illegal cross-border offenses. He emphasized the importance of taking good care of health, as health is a crucial driving force in fulfilling national defense duties and caring for families. He also urged strict adherence to discipline and professional ethics as honorable and dignified national police forces, and a commitment to serve the nation and homeland with a high spirit of responsibility, preserving peace, stability, and tranquility for the people. In response to the practical needs for strengthening work capacity and improving living standards, the valuable gifts, which are donations from the Ministry of Interior, the participation of the General Department of Identification, and philanthropists, were presented. These included financial contributions: 5 million Riel to the Provincial Police Commissionerate and 12 million Riel to the four border infantry battalions. Food and support materials comprised 10 tons of rice, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 100 bottles of fish sauce, 100 bottles of soy sauce, 200 cases of mineral water, 200 cases of sweet and savory crispy snacks, 50 cases of Cambodia Energy Drink, and 50 cases of Dazz Zero Sugar Can. Work and safety materials included 20,000 sacks and 10 sets of solar systems with batteries for use at frontline posts. This visit serves as clear evidence of the spirit of the forces serving the people and the strong attention from the leadership of the Ministry of Interior towards the well-being of the border defense forces of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
