Junta forces bomb Kyain Chaung detention camp in Maungdaw, killing 4 including a captain

According to Arakan Princess Media, a prison official on duty at the prison confirmed that a total of four people, including an officer of captain rank who was a detainee, died on the spot due to the airstrike. Around 3 p.m. on July 2, the junta forces heavily bombed the Kyain Chaung detention camp from the air, dropping up to 33 bombs. "The military is intentionally attacking places where detainees are held, and according to information, the number of detainee deaths has exceeded 200. In the case of the Darlachuang detention camp in Ann, they died en masse. Now, Maungdaw has been bombed for two consecutive days. It is being done intentionally," a source told Ayeyarwaddy Times. It is known that the junta forces used excessive air power in attacking the detention camp. Between 3 p.m. and 3:13 p.m., a jet fighter aircraft made six sorties and dropped six 500-pound bombs. Furthermore, between 3:17 p.m. and 3:32 p.m., a Y-12 aircraft made five additional bombing runs, dropping 27 bombs. Therefore, the junta forces launched an intense attack on the detention camp, using a total of 33 bombs. As a result of this intentional bombing, one captain from the military, who was assigned to provide medical treatment to the detainees in the prison camp, and three detainees, a total of four people, died on the spot. On July 1, the military also carried out airstrikes on the former site of the No. 5 Border Guard Police Battalion in Maungdaw.
