Cambodian Journalist Sentenced to Suspended Prison Term, Raising Press Freedom Concerns
The Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court sentenced Hem Vanna, editor-in-chief of the online news outlet HVNN, to six months in prison for eavesdropping/recording private conversations and incitement. Only two months and five days will be served, with the remainder suspended. The verdict has reignited concerns over press freedom in Cambodia.
