DKBA reunites with Brigadier General Saw Kyaw Thet, leader of Asia Highway battles, and about 350 forces

YT (July 31) Mizzima. The Democratic Kayin Buddhist Army (DKBA) has announced that Brigadier General Saw Kyaw Thet and about 350 of his subordinates, who led battles against the military junta alongside the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People's Defence Force (PDF) during the Spring Revolution, have reunited with the DKBA. Brigadier General Saw Kyaw Thet previously served as the commander of the Kalaw Wah Military Command of the DKBA. During the Spring Revolution, he also served as the commander of the Jar Phyu column and the commander of the 31st Division, and was one of the leaders of the battles on the Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Highway and the battle to capture Kawkareik town. DKBA announced in its statement that Brigadier General Saw Kyaw Thet, who has now rejoined the DKBA, has been appointed as the commander of the No. 3 Military Command. Brigadier General Saw Kyaw Thet was expelled from the DKBA in 2015. In 2016, he re-established the Democratic Kayin Buddhist Army (DKBA), where he served as Chief of Staff with the rank of Brigadier General, and Brigadier General Saw Htain Shwe (alias) Bo Bi served as Deputy Chief of Staff. That organization is referred to as a splinter group of the DKBA, and is currently led by Bo Bi, who is cooperating with the military junta and attacking revolutionary organizations.
