Battambang Provincial Police Chief Orders Readiness for Disaster Intervention
The Battambang Provincial Police Chief has ordered police forces to maintain full readiness for immediate intervention during natural disasters and fires, in line with directives from the Minister of Interior and the National Police Chief.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, July 20, 2026 – Major General Danh Eng Bunchan, Police Commissioner of Battambang Province, stated that police forces must be fully prepared at all times and under all circumstances to intervene and assist citizens during natural disasters, floods, strong winds, or fires occurring within the province. The commissioner made these remarks while leading police forces in the national flag hoisting ceremony at the Battambang Provincial Police Headquarters on the morning of July 20, 2026. Major General Danh Eng Bunchan further stated that this effort is in accordance with the high recommendations of His Excellency Dr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and His Excellency General Sar Thet, Commissioner General of the National Police, as well as His Excellency Sok Lu, Governor of Battambang Province and Chairman of the Battambang Provincial Administrative Unity Command. On this occasion, the provincial police commissioner also praised the dedication of all police forces for their hard work in the past, both in maintaining security and social order during the 10-day Battambang Fruit Festival and in their intervention, rescue, and coordination efforts in areas affected by recent floods. Police forces actively participated alongside authorities and related armed forces. Moving forward, police forces will remain constantly prepared with the necessary equipment and materials for these crucial tasks to ensure the well-being of all citizens in Battambang Province.
