Cambodia Brings Over 2,400 Job Opportunities to Localities, Supporting Returnees and Youth

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has continued to bring over two thousand domestic job opportunities, along with benefits from the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and TVET programs, to local communities. This was achieved through a job fair, social security, and vocational training forum held in Angkor Chey district, Kampot province, on the morning of September 19, 2026. The initiative aims to expand access to employment, skills, and income, particularly for former migrant workers returning from Thailand and young job seekers. Speaking at the forum themed "Khmer Helps Find and Provide Jobs for Khmer," attended by nearly 400 citizens, H.E. Veng Heang, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, stated that Cambodia currently has over 90,000 domestic job opportunities available in various enterprises, companies, and factories. The provision of 2,412 job opportunities at the local level allows citizens to register and undergo interviews directly, saving them time and money that would otherwise be spent traveling to seek employment. H.E. Veng Heang highlighted that domestic jobs offer not only wages and other benefits but also protection from the NSSF, including coverage for work-related risks, healthcare, and pensions. This allows citizens to work close to their families in a secure environment. In contrast, working in Thailand can expose individuals to risks such as safety hazards, labor exploitation, lack of health protection, violence, discrimination, and living far from family. For those intending to work abroad, the ministry encourages migration through legal channels that ensure protection and higher salaries. Furthermore, former migrant workers and young individuals can enroll in free technical skills training programs under the "TVET 1.5 million" initiative. These programs offer flexible study hours and various options, including construction, air conditioning repair, electrical work, baking, barista skills, and beauty services, enabling participants to acquire skills for entrepreneurship or higher-paying jobs. H.E. Veng Heang also appealed to citizens to disseminate this information to their families, relatives, and friends. It is noteworthy that the 2,412 job opportunities presented at this forum were offered by companies including Ventura Leader Wear (CD) Co., Ltd., Thakao Agri Company, Vanly Tire (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., Vattanac Bank, and Mongkol HR Company, which recruits for work in Japan.
