The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on Wednesday donated cash and foodstuffs to support disaster-affected people in the border region of Nepal and China. During the handover ceremony, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Than Soe stated that the donation reflects the humanitarian support of the government and people of Myanmar toward the people of Nepal. He expressed hope that this contribution would strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation, while wishing the affected communities a speedy recovery to their normal lives. In response, Nepal's Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Myanmar government and its people, assuring that the aid would be utilized effectively for the affected population. Following the remarks, Deputy Minister Dr. Than Soe officially handed over US$ 500,000 in cash and 8 tons of beans to the Nepal's Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation.
