The facility will initially operate with 300 beds and plans to expand to 1,000 beds in the future based on demand. The new site will focus on specialized fields that are currently strained at the Hanoi main hospital, including emergency care, neurosurgery, spinal disorders, rehabilitation, and gastrointestinal surgery. A team of 412 experienced doctors and nurses, all holding valid licenses, will be stationed there. Interns and students will not participate in patient care during the initial phase. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, with diagnostic machines like CT scanners and MRIs integrating digital technology and AI. Out of the 44 operating rooms, 12 will be operational in the initial phase, with the rest to be gradually activated as needed. The investment per bed is approximately VND 5 billion (around $200,000 USD), considered high compared to regional and global standards. On July 8, all processes, from patient reception to treatment and IT system operation, will undergo trial runs to identify any issues before official operation. The hospital emphasizes that the new facility will operate as an integrated part of the existing organizational structure, working in unison with the Hanoi main branch. Asset, human resources, and financial management will all be conducted through an integrated software system to ensure transparency. The establishment of this new base is the realization of a project that began in 2015 with a total investment of VND 5 trillion, but had been stalled for many years. It has now been brought to fruition following government directives to resolve outstanding issues. Following the recent operational start of Bach Mai Hospital's second facility, the opening of Viet Duc Hospital's Ninh Binh branch is expected to form a high-quality medical cluster in Ninh Binh province, significantly reducing the burden on medical institutions in the capital region and enhancing healthcare opportunities for local residents.
