Myanmar-Japan Cooperation Expected to Boost Myanmar's Economy

Myanmar and Japanese businesspeople expect that economic cooperation will lead to the development of Myanmar's economy, attendees of the Myanmar-Japan Businesspeople Meeting said. The Myanmar-Japan Businesspeople Meeting was held on the afternoon of July 29 at the Myawaddy Media Center in Yankin Township, Yangon. At the meeting between the two countries, it was stated that efforts would be made to benefit the nation by leveraging the strengths of other sectors, not just the economic sector, according to U Khant Zaw Aung, General Secretary of the Myanmar Marine Products Manufacturers and Exporters Association. The meeting was organized by the Inter-Religious Friendship Promotion Central Committee of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and was attended by U Tin Ko Ko, member of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission; U Soe Min Htun, Director General of the Department of Religious Affairs; U Wanna, Chairman of the Inter-Religious Friendship Promotion Central Committee; officials; Mr. Nakazawa Hiroyuki, Chairman of Japan's Ingo Peace organization; officials; and businesspeople from Japan. Dr. Htoo Htoo, Vice-Chairman of the Inter-Religious Friendship Promotion Central Committee (Christianity), said that if foreign investment flows more into Myanmar, employment opportunities will increase. At the meeting, U Wanna, Chairman of the Inter-Religious Friendship Promotion Central Committee, and two Japanese businesspeople delivered welcoming remarks. After that, the Chairman of the Inter-Religious Friendship Promotion Committee presented a souvenir to Mr. Nakazawa Hiroyuki, Chairman of Japan's Ingo Peace organization, and hosted the attendees with tea.
