Can Tho City Lends Over 3.5 Trillion VND to Support Poor and Policy Households for Economic Development
The Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in Can Tho City has disbursed over 3.59 trillion VND (approximately 359 million USD) as of the end of June, supporting the economic development of over 58,000 poor and policy-affected households. This indicates strong performance in the branch's credit operations, contributing to local economic revitalization.
The Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in Can Tho City announced that as of the end of June, it had disbursed 3.59 trillion VND (approximately 359 million USD) in loans, supporting the economic development of over 58,000 poor and policy-affected households. The branch's credit operations have shown strong performance, with the total outstanding loan balance reaching 19.211 trillion VND, benefiting over 360,000 customers. This represents a 9.45% increase compared to the end of 2025 and surpasses 98% of the assigned growth target. These policy loans have demonstrated tangible effectiveness by helping over 3,700 households (including poor, near-poor, and newly escaped poverty) stabilize their production, creating employment for over 24,000 workers, facilitating the construction of more than 48,000 clean water and sanitation facilities, and supporting the reintegration of hundreds of students and ex-convicts into society. Moving forward, the Can Tho City Bank for Social Policies plans to continue advising local Party committees and authorities on implementing Directive No. 39-CT/TW from the Party Central Secretariat to enhance the effectiveness of policy credit. The branch will focus on mobilizing local budgets, improving loan quality, accelerating digital transformation, and strengthening inspection and supervision to fully achieve its social security objectives for 2026.
