Dong Nai River Rescue Operation Successfully Conducted with Hydropower Plant Cooperation
The Military Command of Quang Tin commune, Lam Dong province, in cooperation with Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Plant, successfully rescued one resident stranded on an islet in the Dong Nai River. The swift response amid ongoing flood damage from heavy rains has been noted.
On July 29, the Military Command of Quang Tin commune, Lam Dong province, announced the successful rescue of one resident stranded on an islet in the Dong Nai River, in cooperation with the Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Plant. The rescue operation took place in the downstream area of the Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Plant. Recently, Lam Dong province has experienced severe flood damage, particularly around Bao Loc city, due to prolonged heavy rains, putting many residents in dangerous situations. This rescue highlights swift and effective cooperation amid challenging circumstances. Vietnam, with much of its territory along rivers and coastlines, is highly susceptible to natural disasters, especially floods and typhoons. In such conditions, enhancing disaster response capabilities through cooperation between the military, local authorities, and infrastructure-related enterprises is crucial for ensuring public safety. The Dong Nai River basin, while undergoing hydropower development, also serves as a vital area for agriculture and residents' livelihoods, necessitating a balance between infrastructure development and environmental/resident well-being.
