Jakarta's Regional Bonds Attract Strong Investor Interest for 2027 Issuance
The Governor of Jakarta announced significant investor interest in the regional bonds planned for issuance in 2027. The bonds, totaling IDR 3.5 trillion, aim to finance long-term public service projects.
The Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, has revealed that investor interest in the regional bonds (Obligasi Daerah) planned for issuance in 2027 is very high. According to the governor, many investors are approaching the Jakarta Provincial Government in preparation for the 2027 issuance. "There are so many investors coming. Because Jakarta's APBD size is large, many are interested," said Pramono at the Tribrata Hotel & Convention Center, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/7/2026). Jakarta aims to be the first region in Indonesia to issue regional bonds, with an anticipated value of IDR 3.5 trillion. The plan has received in-principle approval from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and is currently undergoing discussions with the Jakarta Provincial Council (DPRD DKI Jakarta) regarding the General Budget Policy (KUA) and Provisional Budget Ceiling (PPAS) for the 2027 fiscal year. "If this regional bond can be issued or launched by the Jakarta Provincial Government next year (2027), it will be the first in the Republic," the governor stated. The funds raised from the issuance of these bonds will be used to finance long-term public service projects. These include the construction of the Velodrome-Dukuh Atas LRT route, regional general hospitals (RSUD), school units, reservoirs (embung), polders, and other public infrastructure. "So, all of this will be for long-term public interest, not for consumptive purposes," Pramono emphasized. Source: Liputan6
