To produce qualified nurses and midwives

It is necessary to strive to produce qualified nurses and midwives by raising Myanmar's nursing and midwifery education to a level comparable to Southeast Asian countries, said President Min Aung Hlaing. The President made these remarks while delivering an opening speech at the opening ceremony of the Nursing University (Nay Pyi Taw) and nursing universities in 14 regions and states, held at the Nursing University (Nay Pyi Taw) on the morning of July 16. He stated that it is necessary to increase the training and production of sufficient healthcare human resources to ensure that all citizens can receive accessible healthcare services, for the health and well-being of the entire nation and the improvement of health standards. He also said that 15 of the nursing and midwifery training schools, which are performing an important role in healthcare services, have been upgraded and expanded into nursing universities today. It can be said that the nursing universities opened in Nay Pyi Taw and in the regions and states will become important healthcare centers for the further development of the nation's healthcare human resources, capable of producing qualified and compassionate nurses and midwives, not only for the development of the nation's healthcare system, said the President. Furthermore, President Min Aung Hlaing stated that he wishes to emphasize the importance of producing nurses and midwives who will be the nation's future healthcare human resources, providing them with a solid foundation and systematic training and development, and educating them to become truly academically qualified and outstanding nurses and midwives.
