Dien Bien Province Seeks Scientific Solutions for Green Agriculture Goals
Dien Bien Province is seeking scientific and expert advice to realize its goals for green, smart, and sustainable agricultural development, focusing on enhancing the value chain of key products and transitioning to sustainable farming practices.
Dien Bien Province, located in northwestern Vietnam, has initiated a search for scientific solutions to achieve its goals of developing green, smart, and sustainable agriculture. On July 18, a seminar was held with the theme "Sustainable Agricultural Development Linked to Green Transition and Enhancing the Value Chain of Key Products." At the seminar, Mr. Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed his desire to hear scientific and expert opinions, aiming to deepen discussions on concrete measures for realizing green agriculture. This demonstrates the province's strong commitment to balancing increased agricultural productivity with reduced environmental impact. Dien Bien Province has previously undertaken structural reforms in the agricultural sector, linking them with sustainable poverty reduction. The province has also actively worked to resolve issues in agricultural production support projects. The current pursuit of scientific solutions is expected to further accelerate these past efforts and build an agricultural model that aligns with international sustainability standards. Vietnam, while achieving economic growth under its one-party system, faces demands to enhance added value and export competitiveness in its agricultural sector. The transition to green agriculture is an urgent issue, particularly from the perspectives of climate change adaptation and environmental conservation. Dien Bien Province's initiatives are noteworthy as part of Vietnam's overall agricultural modernization strategy.
