Prey Sar Prison Chief Denies Forged Documents in Srey Sitha Murder Case

Phnom Penh, Cambodia - Nut Savna, the director of Prey Sar Prison, has denied allegations circulating on social media that court documents related to the murder case of former tycoon Srey Sitha are forged. He has invited members of the press to visit the prison to present evidence and clarify the facts of the case. Srey Sitha was accused of shooting and killing two individuals, Long Lisong and his fiancée Kien Kanchana, and injuring two others on June 17, 2024. He was charged with murder and residential intrusion. On December 23, 2024, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court sentenced Srey Sitha to 31 years in prison. He was also ordered to pay $2 million in compensation to the families of the deceased victims and $500,000 to the injured. "If you want to know about the forged documents and the distortion of information by 'ghost accounts' on social media, please come and meet me directly," said Nut Savna. "I will present concrete evidence." The case has garnered significant public attention in Cambodia, with discussions about the authenticity of the court records spreading across social media platforms.
