Vietnam Celebrates National Day with Solemn Ceremonies and Diverse Events

Vietnam celebrated its 81st anniversary of National Day on September 2 with solemn ceremonies held across the country. In Hanoi's Ba Dinh Square, large crowds gathered early in the morning to witness the solemn flag-raising ceremony in front of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. The national flag, measuring 60m long and 33.75m wide and weighing approximately 320 kg, was made from highly durable fabric. Representatives of Working Groups of the Ministry of Public Security also participated in a solemn national flag-raising ceremony at the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), symbolizing Vietnam's contribution to peacekeeping operations and national pride both domestically and internationally. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam stressed that education should aim for comprehensive development, with schools meeting required standards and balancing academic studies with arts, sports, and foreign languages to create an enjoyable learning environment. Furthermore, the Politburo's Resolution 23-NQ/TW, which introduces new viewpoints, goals, and measures to build a united, deeply integrated, and sustainably developing overseas Vietnamese (OV) community and effectively harness its resources for national development and global engagement, was also mentioned. With digital transformation reducing geographical distance, establishing stable, long-term channels for OVs to contribute their knowledge, experience, and international networks to Vietnam's development was highlighted as crucial.
