Vietnam and Azerbaijan Expand Cooperation in Cinema

A delegation from the Vietnam Film Institute, upon invitation from the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, Shovgi Mehdizada, and the organizing committee of "Azerbaijan Cinema Day," participated in a series of activities commemorating Azerbaijan's cinema. This participation is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the film sector. In recent years, relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan have developed across various fields, including commemorations of their strategic partnership and high-level meetings in the defense industry. The current engagement in the film industry is expected to create new opportunities to deepen cultural ties and promote mutual understanding. Within the context of its continued economic growth under a one-party system, Vietnam is pursuing a strategy of diversifying its international relations through cultural exchanges. Strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, in particular, can be seen as part of Vietnam's foreign policy to explore collaboration with the Central Asian region. Cinema serves as a crucial tool for projecting cultural soft power internationally, and cooperation in this area is likely to contribute to enhancing the image of both nations.
