Police Seal Helen's Night Mart in Medan Over Drug-Laced Vape Case

Police in Medan, North Sumatra, have sealed Helen's Night Mart after arresting a suspect for allegedly selling drug-laced vapes at the entertainment venue. The operation by the Medan City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit began with the arrest of a 24-year-old man, identified by the initials FA, who was found with three drug-laced vapes. According to AKBP Rafli Yusuf Nugraha, head of the Medan City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, FA was apprehended during a raid at the establishment on Jalan Setia Budi. The vapes, branded as 'EL CHAPO,' were reportedly stored inside a UNO card box. FA confessed that he intended to sell the vapes for Rp 2,150,000 per pack and obtained them from an individual with the initials DDA, who is now a fugitive sought by the police. "This is a follow-up to the information we received. We are developing this case, especially to apprehend the supplier of the drug-laced vapes from the perpetrator; the team is working," stated Nugraha, as reported by detikSumut. In addition to the drug bust, authorities conducted urine tests on approximately 250 patrons present at the nightclub. Three individuals, two men and one woman, tested positive for narcotics. These patrons are also subject to further investigation. The incident highlights concerns about the prevalence of drug use, particularly synthetic drugs distributed through novel means like vapes, among young people in entertainment venues in Medan.
