Quang Tri Province Closes Schools Due to Heavy Rains and Flood Risks

Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam is facing significant risks of floods, flash floods, and landslides due to continuous heavy rainfall. In response, the provincial Department of Education and Training has requested local authorities and educational institutions to proactively consider closing schools in areas where safety cannot be guaranteed. This measure prioritizes the lives and safety of students. Meteorological authorities forecast that despite the weakening of a tropical depression, heavy rains will persist in the central and northern regions, urging continued vigilance. Specifically, areas around Hue City are at risk of flash floods, landslides, and ground subsidence. Thanh Hoa Province is also enhancing its response to high waves and heavy rainfall. Quang Tri Province plans to closely monitor the weather situation and take swift action as needed. Evacuation of residents and inspection of infrastructure are expected to proceed in high-risk disaster areas.
