High Ratings Affirm Dy's Push to Bring House Closer to People – Hernandez

MANILA, Philippines — The high public satisfaction with House representatives affirms Speaker Faustino Dy III's efforts to bring the chamber closer to the people by focusing on work and listening to its constituents, Senior Deputy Speaker Ferdinand Hernandez said on Monday. Hernandez issued the statement in reaction to the latest OCTA Research "Tugon ng Masa" survey results. He said the survey results affirm that the work of the House of Representatives is being felt by the people, and that the chamber is listening to its constituents. "This means that the people are satisfied with the work of the House of Representatives," Hernandez said. He added that Dy's leadership has been instrumental in bringing the chamber closer to the people. "The Speaker has been very active in ensuring that the House is responsive to the needs of the people," he said. The OCTA Research survey, conducted from March 8-14, polled 1,200 adult respondents nationwide and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent. According to the survey, 77 percent of Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of the House of Representatives, while 14 percent are undecided and 9 percent are dissatisfied. Meanwhile, 74 percent of Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of Dy as Speaker, while 16 percent are undecided and 10 percent are dissatisfied.
