Visayas Grid Under Red Alert Amid Power Supply Shortage

MANILA, Philippines — The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has placed the Visayas grid under red alert due to thin power supply in the region caused by coal plant outages and the tripping of two transmission lines. A yellow alert indicates that available power reserves are thinning, meaning any unexpected plant outage could trigger service interruptions.
