Singapore Sends Military Personnel to Observe Cambodia-Thailand Border Situation

Cambodia's Ministry of National Defense has announced that Singapore has dispatched two military personnel to observe and verify the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border. On July 24, 2026, at 3:40 PM, Cambodia's Coordination Team (CLG) warmly welcomed the Republic of Singapore's delegation. The two officers, Lieutenant Colonel Lim Jun Da and Warrant Officer Tan Jun Wei, will join the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), currently led by the Philippines as the rotating ASEAN chair, to conduct on-site observations and verification of the border situation following the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement between the two nations. Cambodia consistently provides full support and strengthens the role of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in ensuring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, thereby promoting transparency, mutual trust, and safeguarding the lives of citizens. Concurrently, Cambodia always welcomes friendly nations to send observers or participate in peace support efforts. The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia reiterate their firm commitment, loyalty, and high sense of responsibility to fully and strictly adhere to and implement the Joint Declaration of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Statement on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26, 2025, and other related agreements.
