Methamphetamine worth over K4.4 billion seized in Amarapura Township

Over 17.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, valued at approximately K4.4 billion, were seized while being transported by motorcycle in Amarapura Township, according to a statement from CCDAC MYANMAR. On July 28, at around 9:30 PM, a joint team including members of the Anti-Narcotics Police Force, acting on information, discovered Myo Oo, Myo Zaw Oo (aka Thar Kyaw), Ye Tun, and Maung Win along with four motorcycles on the Myitnge-Tonbo road in Minteekone village, Amarapura Township, in the presence of witnesses, and conducted a search. During the search, 17.6 kilograms of methamphetamine (local market value K4.4 billion) and five mobile phones were found and seized from the sala bags they were carrying on the motorcycles. Myo Oo (32), Myo Zaw Oo (aka Thar Kyaw, 36), Ye Tun (38), and Maung Win (52) have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law at the Myitnge Township Police Station, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections.
