Thai Authorities Crack Down on Foreigners Illegally Owning Land on Koh Lanta

Thai Deputy Interior Minister has launched a crackdown on illegal land ownership by foreigners on Koh Lanta, Krabi province. Over 120 rai (approximately 190,000 sqm) of land, valued at over 2 billion baht (approx. 8 billion JPY), is under investigation, with suspicions of one individual establishing multiple companies to hold the properties.
