State Counsellor Daw Min Aung Hlaing and wife meet with families of Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Laos

State Counsellor Daw Min Aung Hlaing and wife, and their entourage, who are on a state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, met with families of the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Laos, and trainees, at the Myanmar Embassy in Laos on the afternoon of July 4, and delivered a speech. First, State Counsellor Daw Min Aung Hlaing and wife, and their entourage, were welcomed and greeted by the families of the Embassy and Military Attaché Office, and the Ambassador of Myanmar to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and the families of the Embassy and Military Attaché Office, were introduced one by one. After that, the State Counsellor expressed his joy at meeting the families of the Embassy and Military Attaché Office, and stated that this state-level goodwill visit to Laos was the first since he took office as President, among ASEAN countries. He said that Myanmar and Laos are reliable neighboring countries and good friends. He stated that both countries are nations that will always maintain their traditional good relations, and that Laos has now developed and changed significantly compared to before. He noted that political stability has been achieved and economic development has also been pursued. He said that the two countries have a particularly good relationship, and those serving at the Embassy and Military Attaché Office need to work to further improve and develop bilateral relations during their tenure. He added that the two countries are working to upgrade their relationship to that of strategic partner nations. He stated that reciprocal visits by heads of state for goodwill tours between the two countries will be further promoted, and that Myanmar is currently on the path of multi-party democracy. He said that due to electoral fraud in the 2020 multi-party general election, the Tatmadaw had to undertake state responsibilities in accordance with the constitution. Furthermore, he said that the Tatmadaw has strived to ensure that the multi-party democracy path desired by the people can be firmly followed, and that they have cooperated to the best of their ability during the term of the previous democratic government. He stated that a free and fair election has now been successfully held, and that a parliament composed of elected representatives has been convened, and that the elected government is now energetically carrying out state responsibilities. However, he said that some countries, fearing that their interests would be harmed, do not want to accept the fact that the government elected by the people in Myanmar is carrying out state responsibilities. He stated that the Myanmar government will continue to strive with all its might to develop the nation amidst difficulties, and that Laos, among ASEAN countries, has accepted Myanmar's political developments, which is why he was invited on this state-level goodwill visit. He stated that Myanmar is faithfully adhering to and implementing agreements within ASEAN, and that it is necessary for everyone to be aware of this effort. He instructed that Myanmar citizens residing in Laos for various reasons should be protected as much as possible and live in unity. He also stated that families serving at the Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Laos need to study English, AI technology, and computer technology individually during their free time while serving abroad, and expressed hope that they will become individuals who can contribute to the country in the future. He instructed trainees and officers studying in Laos to learn the Lao language thoroughly by utilizing the advantages of consonants and vowels used in their own language. He advised them to study diligently, as mastering any language will be beneficial for their lives, and inquired about their needs and provided assistance. After that, the State Counsellor presented food and honorariums to the families of the Embassy and Military Attaché Office, and trainees and officers, which were received by the Ambassador, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, Air Force), and trainees. The State Counsellor signed the guest book at the Embassy. Subsequently, the State Counsellor inspected the progress of the construction of the new Myanmar Embassy building in Laos and gave necessary instructions based on the reports from the Ambassador and responsible officials. After that, the State Counsellor visited the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, Air Force) Office, where he was welcomed and greeted by the Military Attaché and responsible officials. It is reported that the State Counsellor inspected the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, Air Force) Office and provided necessary assistance.
