Drunk Man Wakes Up to 4-Meter Snake He Brought Home Without Memory

A man in Pathum Thani province, bordering Bangkok, was left stunned after discovering a four-meter snake inside his home, with no memory of how it got there due to heavy intoxication. The bizarre incident occurred on the morning of July 10 in the Bueng Yitho area of Thanyaburi District. The homeowner, identified only as Rachata, was shown in video footage from the previous night grabbing the snake by its tail, swinging it around, and later carrying it in his arms before placing it inside a glass enclosure at his home. After sobering up, Rachata was reportedly shocked when he saw the footage and realized what he had done, repeatedly asking what had happened and unable to believe he had handled such a large snake while intoxicated. Rescue personnel arrived at the home and safely removed the reptile, believed to be a python, from the enclosure. The snake was later released back into its natural habitat. The incident quickly drew attention online, with many people expressing surprise at how the man had managed to handle such a large snake without knowing the risks involved. Wildlife and rescue officials have strongly warned the public never to approach, grab, or attempt to keep wild snakes, whether out of curiosity, for entertainment, or while under the influence of alcohol. They stated that people cannot easily determine whether a snake is dangerous or predict its reaction when disturbed. Authorities urged residents who encounter snakes in their homes or communities to maintain a safe distance and contact trained rescue teams or wildlife officers for assistance. The incident serves as another reminder that wild animals should only be handled by trained professionals, regardless of their size or appearance.
