58 Rare Orangutans Die in Sumatra Floods, Climate Change Concerns Rise

In November last year, 58 critically endangered Tapanuli orangutans died in Sumatra, Indonesia, due to four days of heavy rainfall and landslides. This represents about 7% of the global population, estimated at just over 800, raising serious concerns for the ecosystem.
