HUTECH Announces 2026 Admission Thresholds, Starting at 15 Points

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) announced its admission thresholds for the 2026 academic year on August 9. For admissions based on the 2026 National High School Graduation Exam results, 52 out of 64 programs set the minimum threshold at 15 points (out of 30 for three subjects). The highest threshold is 22 points for Medicine. Pharmacy, Law, and Economic Law programs are at 20 points, while Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology programs require 18 points. All other programs are set at 15 points. Under the academic record (high school transcript) admission method, Medicine leads with 23 points, followed by Pharmacy, Law, and Economic Law at 20 points, and other programs at 18 points. For admissions using V-SAT scores and the competency assessment test from Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Health and Law programs also rank highest. HUTECH plans to enroll approximately 10,000 students this year. For academic record admissions, candidates can use either the average score of three subjects in 12th grade or the average score of all subjects in 12th grade. For the method combining National High School Graduation Exam scores and academic records, the admission score is calculated as follows: Admission Score = (National High School Graduation Exam Score + High School Academic Record Score) / 2 Here, the National High School Graduation Exam score is the sum of three subjects for the chosen combination (out of 30), and the High School Academic Record Score is the average score of all subjects in 12th grade multiplied by three.
