Indonesian Expert Predicts New Cold War Between US and China

Indonesian political analyst Mahfuz Sidik has expressed the view that a new cold war is highly likely to break out between the United States and China. This prediction suggests that the strategic competition between the two great powers will intensify, significantly impacting the international order. According to Sidik's analysis, this "new cold war" is expected to unfold across various fields, including economics, technology, and security. Given Indonesia's deep economic and geographical ties with both the US and China, this geopolitical tension could have unavoidable repercussions. Economically, concerns are rising about supply chain realignments and escalating trade friction. In terms of security, heightened tensions, particularly concerning the South China Sea, could affect regional stability.
