Youth arrested with drugs by Kotuang People’s Defence Force

A youth who was using methamphetamine was arrested with the drugs in Kotuang Township, Tanintharyi Region, according to a statement released by the Kotuang Township People’s Defence Force (PDO-KT) on July 29. The PDO-KT arrested Maung Aung Min Thu, 17, a resident of Foksoat village, who was using methamphetamine on a road during area clearance operations in the township, along with 25 WY methamphetamine pills. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing and selling a wood cutting machine from a house in Nammanwel village, according to the statement. “There are many drug users and many sellers. Thieves are also increasing,” Bo Lapyit (Township In-charge) told Mizzima. The Kotuang Township People’s Defence Force announced that further action will be taken in accordance with legal procedures.
