Nguyen Duc Tam Appointed Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee

On July 27, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam announced the decision to appoint Nguyen Duc Tam as Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee. Born in 1981 and hailing from Hung Yen province, Tam holds a Master's degree in Economics and advanced political theory qualifications. He has served for 23 years in the Ministry of Planning and Investment (now the Ministry of Finance), holding significant positions such as Deputy Director of the Business Registration Administration, Head of the Ministry's Office, Director of the Department for Local and Territorial Economy, and Director of the Department for National Economic Synthesis. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment (now Deputy Minister of Finance) in October 2024. Trinh Manh Linh, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, praised Tam's strong political will, high ethical standards, sense of responsibility, and extensive experience in developing economic and social development strategies and plans. Linh urged Tam to unite with the leadership of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee to strive for economic growth, development of cultural and social endeavors, assurance of national defense and security, party building, and improvement of people's lives. The Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee expressed its commitment to supporting Tam in his duties and cooperating to make the province a crucial growth pole in the South Central Coast region. Tam stated that this appointment is both an honor and a heavy responsibility. He pledged to strictly adhere to the Party's regulations and the working rules of the Provincial Party Committee, and to follow directives from the central government. He also expressed his aim to grasp local conditions, listen to the people's opinions, and bring about social transformation through effective policy decisions that benefit the populace. This appointment signifies the Communist Party of Vietnam's strategy within its one-party system to promote experienced young cadres to key provincial positions to drive economic development and social stability. The placement of individuals with practical economic experience in important roles is seen as part of Vietnam's sustained economic growth strategy.
