Prabowo: 2050 Belongs to Today's Youth, Our Generation is a Stepping Stone
President Prabowo stated that Indonesia in 2050 will belong to today's youth, describing his generation as a "stepping stone" for the next. He expressed optimism about Indonesia becoming an economic powerhouse while emphasizing the transfer of responsibility to the younger generation.
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that the year 2050 belongs to today's youth, describing his generation as merely a "stepping stone" for the next to ascend higher. Speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Democratic Party held at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/9/2026), Prabowo began by distributing a book to party cadres that outlined a bright future for Indonesia. "The point is, our future is bright. All experts, all global institutions, say that Indonesia will be the fourth largest economy in the world by 2050," Prabowo said. He noted that while experts predict Indonesia will become one of the great powers, sometimes Indonesians themselves are unaware of their nation's immense potential. "They say we will be one of the great powers. No, we must not be arrogant, but they say sometimes Indonesians are not aware of how big and how strong our potential is," he stated. Prabowo then emphasized that 24 years from now, in 2050, will be the era of the young generation. He likened his own generation to a "stepping stone" that younger individuals will use to rise higher. "To take over responsibility, to continue the resurgence of the Indonesian nation," he added.
