Cambodia Reviews Progress of 'Safe Village-Commune' Policy to Eradicate Crime

Phan Chanthol, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior, encouraged all relevant stakeholders to continue cooperating and implementing the 'Safe Village-Commune' policy consistently and effectively to ensure that all local levels become crime-free and to maintain the suppression of crimes at over 80%. His Excellency Phan Chanthol made these remarks during a meeting to review the results of the implementation of the 'Safe Village-Commune' policy for the first half of 2026 and to set directions for the second half of the year. The meeting was held on the morning of July 13, 2026, at the administration building of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Hall. His Excellency Oum Ratry, representing the Provincial Administrative Unity Command, provided a brief report on the work accomplished so far and pledged to continue diligently leading the implementation of laws, sub-decrees, and announcements from the government and the Ministry of Interior. This includes combating cyber technology fraud, drug abuse, illegal gambling, and all types of crimes, while actively promoting the implementation of the five measures related to the 'Safe Village-Commune' policy.
