Vietnam Celebrates National Day, Focuses on Diplomacy and Economic Cooperation

Vietnam celebrated its 81st National Day on September 2, with commemorative events held across the country. Leaders from India, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Brunei, and Myanmar, as well as the United Nations, sent congratulatory messages and letters to Vietnamese Party and State leaders on the occasion. This highlights Vietnam's steadily growing international standing. Domestically, efforts are accelerating to achieve economic growth targets. The Prime Minister instructed ministries, agencies, and localities to regularly review and update growth scenarios on a monthly and quarterly basis, proactively identify bottlenecks affecting growth targets, and promptly remove them. This reaffirms the commitment to economic development as a top priority under Vietnam's one-party system. In terms of diplomacy, cooperation between the Vietnamese and RoK National Assemblies plays a pivotal role in institutionalizing bilateral agreements and building a solid legal foundation for stable cooperation, according to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. The Vice President of the Vietnamese National Assembly called on Japan to support Vietnam in removing legal bottlenecks related to technology transfer and intellectual property protection, and to facilitate visas and welfare arrangements for experts, scientists, students, and skilled workers. This indicates Vietnam's aim to upgrade its economy through the introduction of advanced technology and human resource development from developed countries. Furthermore, Vietnam and France have called for promoting exchanges to maximize the potential of economic, trade, and investment cooperation. Breakthroughs are also sought in science and technology, innovation, energy, aerospace, transport, and railways, along with deepening collaboration in defense-security, healthcare, education-training, culture, and at the local level. The French Ambassador noted the importance of Vietnam's role in the region and on the international stage and expressed a desire to accompany Vietnam in its new era of development. Vietnam also reaffirmed the role and importance of its overseas communities, recognizing them as essential strategic resources for national construction and development.
