Cambodian Red Cross Expands Youth Ranks, Instills Red Cross Spirit in 210 New Members
On September 3rd, the Cambodian Red Cross held a ceremony at the Phnom Penh Teacher Training Institute to welcome and instill the Red Cross spirit in 210 newly selected youth members. This initiative aims to expand the organization's youth volunteer network as part of its 2021-2030 strategy.
On September 3, 2026, the Cambodian Red Cross organized a discussion and scarf-awarding ceremony for 210 newly selected youth members of the Cambodian Red Cross Club at the Phnom Penh Teacher Training Institute. The event was presided over by H.E. Pit Chhnam, a member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian Red Cross, and attended by approximately 260 participants, including teachers, youth advisors, and youth members from clubs at 24 higher education institutions in Phnom Penh. H.E. Pit Chhnam conveyed the heartfelt greetings and profound affection from Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, and H.E. Dr. Bun Rany, Permanent Vice President. H.E. Pit Chhnam stated that youth and volunteers are the "heart and core driving force" of the Red Cross movement. He emphasized that the scarf-awarding ceremony marks a significant step in expanding the youth network to become a successor force, firmly upholding the 7 fundamental principles and humanitarian values, in line with the 2021-2030 strategy. He also commended the institute's management, youth advisors, and operational teams for their diligent efforts in promoting humanitarian activities, "Friend-Education-Friend" and "Friend-Help-Friend," in accordance with the motto: "Where there is suffering, there is the Cambodian Red Cross."
