Thai PM Orders Deportation of Israeli Man Under New Regulations

Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has signed an order for the deportation of Mr. Yaacov Ohayon, an Israeli national. Mr. Ohayon was convicted by the Koh Samui Provincial Court for criminal intimidation under Section 392 of the Thai Penal Code. The case originated from Mr. Ohayon reportedly sending threatening messages to the victim, the owner of a zoo in Koh Samui. The court found him guilty, leading to the Prime Minister's deportation order. This deportation marks the first instance of an expulsion carried out under Thailand's newly implemented, simplified regulations for deporting foreigners.
