Le Méridien Chiang Rai Unveils Immersive Art Experience with Local Collective
Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort is set to host "ARTEL by illus.illy.cei" from October 9-13, transforming guest rooms into art galleries featuring local artists. The event aims to blend regional culture with contemporary art, welcoming both guests and non-residents.
CHIANG RAI – Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort is set to welcome the arrival of winter with a unique creative getaway, "ARTEL by illus.illy.cei at Le Méridien Chiang Rai," running from October 9 to 13, 2026. This cultural activation embodies Le Méridien’s chic European heritage and passion for cultural discovery. Thirteen dedicated guest rooms and lush public spaces will be transformed into walk-in galleries showcasing works by 45 local artists, led by the rising Chiang Rai creative collective illus.illy.cei. The collective, whose name derives from "illustration" and "illy" (inspired by ‘easily’ and a Northern Thai word for excitement and coolness), focuses on contemporary art, human experiences, and social issues, aiming to connect local Northern Thai culture with global creative perspectives through accessible art. Throughout the five-day event, from 09:00 to 18:00 hrs., both in-house guests and non-resident visitors are invited to step inside transformed guest rooms turned art studios. They can engage directly with local creators and participate in hands-on creative workshops, with each participant receiving a special DIY souvenir. An interactive Art Passport will be provided to enhance the discovery journey. Guests can collect stamps from participating artists by exploring the exhibition rooms to unlock exclusive discounts at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort’s dining outlets and spa treatments. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, a weekend Art & Craft Market will take place from Friday, October 9 through Sunday, October 11, 2026, bringing together local artisans, craft makers, and cultural enthusiasts along the resort’s picturesque grounds, shaded by iconic 120-year-old rain trees. "Artel by illus.illy.cei" highlights Le Méridien’s commitment to enabling creative travel and supporting local artistic talent. The event offers a playful twist on the hotel experience, with transformed rooms inviting guests to discover and create. To make the seasonal escape even more enticing, the "Chiang Rai Winter Breeze" stay offer starts from THB 2,905++ per night (Room Only). Bookings are open between September 1 – 30, 2026, for stays throughout October 1 – 31, 2026.
